After the end of the controversial AI platform, the EIC Accelerator is returning to its roots: A Word-based template for all Step 2 applicants was recently published. What else is new? We give an overview.
In a statement today, the EIC announced that the AI platform is no longer accessible with immediate effect and the application process for the EIC Accelerator will therefore be moved back to the EU Funding & Tender Portal - with major consequences for the application structure, the upcoming deadline and Step 1 applications.
Initially, it was planned that companies would be able to submit their full proposals to the EIC Accelerator by four deadlines in the new year. However, the first deadline on 12 January has now been cancelled.
The EIC will now officially launch on 18th March 2021. With a budget of 10 billion €, the European Innovation Council (EIC) is a central element of Horizon Europe and the most ambitious innovation initiative in Europe.
SONOTEC has been funded with its project "E-Saving Ultrasonics" by the EU and has successfully made the step into the market. The ultrasonic technology enables manufacturing companies to identify worn machine parts and leaks in compressed air systems, thus reducing energy waste.
The plans for the EIC Accelerator 2021 are slowly taking shape, with first information now indicating that full proposals can be submitted as early as 9 June. This means that the portal for submitting outlines could be launched already in spring.
